Humans replace robots on assembly lines
A few humans may replace robots on assembly
lines like a modern day John Henry--
for he was "a steel driving man"
and he may also have been Negro
so, appropriately he can
stand for an American folk hero.
But how does he translate into German or Japanese
for those employers who prefer human dexterity and expertise
to robots who never retire or fatigue
or ask to be off some day or week?
Whether humans are on or off it,
all assembly lines are made for profit
and no one will ever want to play a chord
to celebrate Mercedes, Toyota or Ford.
