Dan's Old Fridge

A Poem For My Old Fridge

Hasta la vista
Old broken thing
I would say that I'll miss you
And your sense of humor
And your constant growl
And your panache
And your suave way about town
But I prefer lettuce not frozen
And ice cream frozen
So don't let the door hit you
On the way out

Fridge to Dan:

Dear Daniel:

For the many years i've  served

and  food faithfully preserved

I thought  I must

have earned your trust--

but instead I'm  being left to rust

and then forgotten

like something rotten.

My mistake, I guess,  in growing too old

to keep your food appropriately cold.

I hope  my replacement will now serve  better in your home--

not just look youthfully  ornamental  in  steel and  chrome.

Now I ll take my last adieu

to  longer use up B.T.U.

Farewell,

Eat Well.
