A lock of John Lennon's hair that was cut as he prepared to appear in a film sold for $35,000 (£24,000) at an auction in Dallas.
The four-inch snippet was bought by Paul Fraser, a UK based memorabilia collector,

The Rape of the Lock...  Revisited?

It is often said the world's not fair.
And that certainly applies to hair.
My head -for one- is nearly bare
with  tousled locks simply not there.

Though I must say it would make me feel quite iIl--ia
To collect someone else's  scalp as memorabilia

Though  centuries ago it had been our Native Indians passion,
I'd have  thought that since then it  had gone out of fashion
after tribes like the Comanches
had stopped raiding ranches
and offered  peace branches

to settle for their salvation
in a  more peaceful Reservation.

Let's fervently  hope
even if   necrophilia someday  gets   worse in Dallas
 no overly rich dope
will ever decide to buy a dead celebrity  phallus

because it would only bring expensive laughter:
Resurrection belongs strictly to the Hereafter.
