Oh, It's Another Spring

Though people rarely agree on anything

or, if  broken,  how to  mend it,

I suppose that most would now  say it's Spring

but  differ on how to spend it.

And what about   the case of all

of those in the Southern Hemisphere

since for them it's only  early Fall,

before a  cold  Winter could appear ?

So even if I'm not sure of exactly those to whom

I've got to thank it,

I think I'll just go back  my air conditioned room

and get back beneath my blanket.

Not for me the romantic chase

or  a daunting mountain climb,

even  less a  defiant voyage in space---

I'll just dream away the time.

Though,  after a few such  hours,

I may go out to smell some flowers.

Spring is one of the four conventional temperate seasons, following winter and preceding summer. There are various technical definitions of spring, but local usage of the term varies according to local climate, cultures and customs. When it is spring in the Northern Hemisphere, it will be autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. At the spring equinoxdays are approximately 12 hours long with day length increasing as the season progresses. Spring and "springtime" refer to the season, and also to ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth. Subtropical and tropical areas have climates better described in terms of other seasons, e.g. dry or wet, monsoonal or cyclonic. Often the cultures have locally defined names for seasons which have little equivalence to the terms originating in Europe.
