An Owed to WS

 An Owed to WS

To the  Very Wise, if Slightly Stooped 90 Plus  Ed:

A very much greater Poet than You or I
was only in his 50's when he came to die.

And,  later,  after he was buried and dead
somebody   went and stole his head....

Even though he'd left his wife his 2nd best bed.

When  such genius they'll never
explain or attain.
why not  remember Will forever,
before WE complain?

My Aching Back

Staggering down the street
Weaving, not at all effete,
Scoliosis bent, recalled talk
With father, of his aching back walk.
He strode, straight with determination.
I, at lesser pace, with reflection,
Wonder if his ache is inherited
Or, if posture will help correct it?
With my dance teachers’ assistance,
I strive to achieve postural excellence,
But straightening up and flying right
Appear to be forever out of sight.
