“The people who voted yes are very invested in the idea of staying in Europe,”

But more than 60 percent of voters expressed some of the same resentment against overweening Western European hegemons that their ancestors did in 1832, and 1843, and 1854. “For the people who voted no, it was, once again, we’re being pushed around by other European countries as though we’re not a part of Europe.”
Greece, Again!
They've often heard this song before
including way back in 1832, '43 and '54
and though they.ve always gone to church on Sunday
and never made that a fun day--
somehow they've also always managed a lax
attitude towards paying any tax.
And while having done much for mankind
with noble skill and grace,
that was several millennia ago,
and since then they've mostly stayed in place
at a very slow pace
keeping ancient accomplishments in mind
with the button fixed on rewind.
So don't be surprised when you hear and see
yet one more replay of an old, old melody.
