Trump visits as David Cameron resigns

All the confident Market and pre-Brexit polls

have wound up making the wrong calls.

So,whatever his many other faults

no one should accuse The Donald of bad timing.

Indeed, he may even feel like doing somersaults

or --(like me?) --writing verse with bad rhyming.

Plus, he could now offer the Brits this option sinister:

Tired of Europe? Then choose ME as your Prime Minister.

For, after barring all the world's frightened refugees seeking a haven

I'd build a giant hotel and golf course at Stratford-on-Avon

and then, while you're busy avoiding sand traps and bunkers to hole out.

I'll conspire to throw every former Frenchman, Muslim and Pole out.

But if their former vision of One Europe hasn't exactly been Heaven,

will Brits really be better off if there would again be Twenty Seven?
