Thoughts for the New Year
1) When you've gotten old,
people shouldn't wish you to "Have a good day" ahead,
since you are unlikely to collect
and the best you should expect
is a good every second or third day, instead.
Also,
2) don't expect to be invited to some Young Thing's weddin'
unless of course, you're paying a large part of the bill ,
And
3)hope our Presidential advisers can avoid a nuclear Armageddon
at least until we're all even much more over the hill.
And,finally,
4) Please don't consider me an unappreciative louse,
but I'm tired of almost any waltz by the Family Strauss!
