GREED
The Apple campus in Cork, Ireland. GREED
Though I am not an economics expert, Apple may have made a mistake--
as an American company --to make its home in Ireland for a tax break
even if it shoulds amount to more than ten billion,
because their color may now go from blue to vermilion.
The thought of those pots and pots of money
has long smelled like lots and lots of honey
irresistible to the European economic community
who'd now like to seize it with impunity
and at their very first opportunity.
Meanwhile, leaping to Apple's cooking the books
our U. S. Pols say that while they may indeed be crooks
they are neither Irish nor European---
but OUR crooks--
so keep your hands off -for the time bein'
until we somehow bring all that cash back home.
and thus find ourselves a better way to end this poem.
