Smell, evolution and the sex brain

When Ogden Nash wrote "candy is dandy

but liquor is quicker"

lines which then  seemed chic

and rather full of cheek

about the coupling of a vagina and phallus,

but which  today sound meek or even weak

as well as innocently free of malice---

but of course , he would have never heard of Cialis.

Not to mention Flibanserin, the new female Viagra,

which may henceforth    replace all future  trips to Niagara.

Still, though I have  no special pretensions

or expertise,

I think  chemical inventions

such as these

will never make sex as simple

as squeezing a pimple.

Despite expensive aromatics

or impressive acrobatics,

ditto injections of hormones,

or  T shirts soaked in  pheromones--

or whatever else may lie in prospect,

I suspect 

s-e-x is  something that will always   remain

subject to  vagaries in the human  brain.
