The Shadow......to return in 2016?

On September 26, 1937, The Shadow radio drama premiered with the story "The Deathhouse Rescue", in which The Shadow was characterized as having "the power to cloud men's minds so they cannot see him." As in the magazine stories, The Shadow was not given the literal ability to become invisible.

The Shadow......to return in 2016?

Does anyone remember The Shadow?

It was an old time radio show,

dating back to way back when.....

in fact, 1937... when I was ten.

He "had the power to cloud men's minds so they cannot see him"

which now sounds like a candidate for President trying to be him.

"Who knows what evil lurks deep  in the heart of Man?"

Is THAT what we'll all  learn in 2016, "My  Fellow American"?,

a phrase which was often used by FDR

who did, more or less, tell things as they are.

And though I could never have  realized it before,

in those childhood days of yore,

the musical theme for The Shadow may soon also become real---

because It is Saint Saen's " Omphale's Spinning Wheel"---

and whichever  candidate   winds up winning

most certainly will  have done a lot of spinning.

And just who was Omphale  you might ask?

Thanks for assigning me this task!

She was an ancient Queen  who thoroughly captured Hercules' "mind"

sometimes  depicted nude--and from behind.

Her spinning, before it was done,

must really have been fun!
