MARITAL ARITHMETIC

FacebookTwitterGoogleEmailCopy EXCLUSIVE Meet the man allegedly having an affair with Larry King’s wife By Oli ColemanAugust 24, 2016 | 10:05pm Modal TriggerMeet the man allegedly having an affair with Larry King’s wife Richard Greene, Shawn King and Larry KingPhoto: Getty Images (Composite) MORE ON: LARRY KING Larry King 'embarrassed and furious' over wife's alleged affair Larry King's wife allegedly having affair Singing should be left to Tony Bennett Larry King approves of A-Rod's new gig The man who’s been carrying on an alleged yearlong affair with Larry King’s wife, Shawn King, is a public-speaking guru whose clients have included US senators, Arianna Huffington, Princess Diana,Naomi Campbell, and Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, according to a source close to the King family. Richard Greene — dubbed “the master of charisma” by the Sunday Times of London, and whose Website lists the aforementioned stars as customers — has also appeared as a talking head on endless TV news reports. And the National Enquirer — which broke the story of the affair, but didn’t name Greene — claims that Shawn is trying to groom him as “the next Larry King.” Attorneys representing Shawn and Larry, as well as a rep for Greene, called the story of the affair “inaccurate.” Meanwhile, insiders tell Page Six that Larry, 82, was blindsided by the revelation of the alleged tryst. Sources say that Larry believed his wife of 19 years was faithful to him and only learned about her romance with Greene when the Enquirer contacted his reps for comment. Shockingly, an insider told us that Shawn, 56, met Greene when he was a guest on a podcast she co-hosts with her husband, “Back and Forth With Shawn and Larry.” “He’s heartbroken,” a friend of Larry’s told us. “He’s embarrassed and furious.” The source added that although Shawn — whom the Enquirer reported on Wednesday had sent nude pictures and had “steamy afternoon sex sessions” with her boy toy — is still living with Larry after the news hit, the veteran broadcaster hasn’t made a decision on whether to file for divorce. In fact, the insider said that before the scandal broke, Shawn “was ready to divorce Larry for this guy, but the guy was hesitant about it.” The insider further revealed that Shawn and Larry’s marriage has effectively been over since about 2010 and that the couple sleep in separate rooms in their Beverly Hills, Calif., home. This has been such an extremely hot and humid summer that it may not surprise that today's story is a bummer possibly caused by people eating too much fast food staying cool indoors trying to improve their mood. Though I doubt that it will a man's pulse quicken should his loved one smell like fried chicken, I suppose what might WELL make his heart quake is the aroma of a really good medium rare steak wafted from somewhere above the knees--- but easy on the onions and garlic, please. HzL 8/23/16 Curious flock to KFC's fried-chicken scented sunscreen Chris Woodyard, USA TODAY4:04 a.m. EDT August 23, 2016 636075008232413649-image2.JPG (Photo: KFC) With a little help from fast-food chain KFC, thousands of fried chicken lovers aren't going to find themselves a little extra crispy from laying out in the sun too long this summer. Some 3,000 tubes of fried chicken-scented sunscreen were snapped up in two hours Monday in a promotion for KFC's extra-crispy recipe, officials said. You read that right: sun-protection lotion, SPF 30, was scented to smell like fried chicken for the online promotion. "We think it smells amazing," says KFC spokeswoman Kasey Mathes. "The sunscreen seemed like a natural fit." The gimmick also dovetailed with KFC's latest TV ad campaign featuring actor George Hamilton, noted for his deep, continuous suntan, as the Extra-Crispy Colonel. Now, in that spirit, Mathes says many fans around the country who claimed a bottle at a special website can be living the "extra-crispy lifestyle."

THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF NORFOLK

THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF NORFOLK If you're a prominent Catholic couple who can't or don't want to divorce, when your hate for each other grows double you just move into separate wings of the Castle, of course. Still, if that castle should have a moat-- and after a sufficiently long while-- you may find yourselves once again in the same boat and even be moved to kiss and reconcile. CLIMATE CHANGE

_______________________________ CLIMATE CHANGE To anyone who's thinking, Here's some news that's topical: While Florida is sinking, Canada's becoming tropical. While this may have its appeals and not to all be an alarmer, it's bound to confuse most seals and penguins who don't like warmer. Therefore they may have to change team names if they still plan future hockey games. HzL 8/20/16 ___________________________________________________ Arctic sea ice is vanishing far faster than anyone thought possible Robert Ferris | @RobertoFerris 13 Hours Ago CNBC.com 10 SHARES 227 COMMENTSJoin the Discussion AndWhile Melting water pours from ice face of Brasvellbreen Icefield on stormy summer morning. Paul Souders | Getty Images Melting water pours from ice face of Brasvellbreen Icefield on stormy summer morning. Arctic sea ice is melting at a rate far faster than anyone thought, and it is already wildly, and perhaps permanently, changing the region, and the planet. Historically, sea ice forms every winter across the top of the planet, and covers much of the Arctic Ocean. Every summer, the ice melts a bit and retreats, only to repeat the cycle again. But since the 1980s, the ice has been retreating further and further overall, contributing to sea level rise, changes to ecosystems, and erosion so severe it is biting off chunks of coastlines in Alaska, Canada and elsewhere. As 2016 continues apace to be one of the warmest years on record, Arctic sea ice levels appear to be among the lowest on record, said Tom Wagner, program manager for NASA's cryosphere research — a name given to the study of frozen regions of the planet. "It doesn't look like the ice is healing or growing back." An animation showing the annual retreat of Arctic ice between 1989 and 2015. (Source: NASA) "By some accounts we have lost more than two-thirds of the ice that used to be back in the 1980s," Wagner said. "This looks to be a very, very long-term trend and we are only going to be losing more ice. This matters because the "health" of the ice is considered a general indicator of what is going on in the Earth's total climate system. "This is not something that will affect humanity in the far off future," Wagner said, "loss of this ice is already wildly changing the Arctic," and rippling outward to the rest of the planet. "The planet is not just changing, it is changed," Wagner said. "And we have to deal with the change that has occurred. The melting of the glaciers in Alaska and Canada and Greenland is already raising sea levels to the point that Miami and New York are experiencing flooding." Robert Ferris Science Reporter

LONGEVITY

LONGEVITY The familiar subject of longevity should not be treated with levity but either with a respectful gravity or else, perhaps , nonchalant suavity. Because just between me and you there seems to be little we can do to avoid our hair getting gray a bit more and more each day. Well I suppose that exercise is OK if not carried to extremes anyway, and whether or not you are a do-er it seems much better not to be poor plus you have a chance of becoming a centenarian if you are at least something of a vegetarian. Besides, according to Ezekiel Emanuel,"life's not much worth living past 75" so why should we all then try so hard to stay alive? However with him I certainly don't now agree even though I very well may when I'm 103-- Still, I'd like to get there first -- and then see. THE FUTURE A wonderful thing in being optimistic and clever about the future is that there are never any data to contradict it....until it's too late. So even if it should become a Nemesis and then cause widespread emesis ... you'll just call it Fate. H A(ristotle)L. 8/14/16

SOME ELECTION NEWS AND VIEWS

SOME ELECTION NEWS AND VIEWS Hillary Clinton will probably gain an election sweep because she is running against a complicated creep who, despite his manners uncouth, about HER is mainly telling truth. Quite soon Hillary may again have the honor of living in the White House with an equally effective and complicit spouse. But I hope she won't then consider the furnishings tacky and plan to go in for extensive refurbishing a la Jacky because after becoming our first woman President she may not long continue resident and instead, could soon be invited to find another place to stay already decorated in unattractive shades of gray--- with or without remorse, provided, of course: probes of the Clinton Foundation are really allowed to get under way. HZL 8/13/16 WaPo reported that the couple brought in $3 billion, if you count all of their campaign contributions. “ The Clintons’ fundraising operation — $3 billion amassed by one couple, working in tandem for more than four decades — has no equal,” they reported as part of a wide-ranging investigation into the source of the couple’s funds. In a related development, CNN reported Thursday that earlier this year, Justice Department officials in three different field offices “were in agreement a public corruption investigation should be launched” of Clinton Foundation activities. The probe was sparked by a bank notifying the FBI of “suspicious activity” around a foreign donor to the Clinton Foundation, according to Pamela Brown, CNN’s Justice Department reporter. The investigation, if launched, would have looked at conflicts of interest between requests by foreign donors and official acts by Hillary. CNN did not identify the bank or the foreign donor. Brown reported the FBI and Justice Department officials met, and there was “disagreement” whether to launch such an investigation. In the end, the investigation was killed. A separate investigation was approved involving Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who was a major director to the foundation for most if its existence. Follow Richard on Twitter Virginia Gov. An Ode to a Greener Lauderdale

LOCAL AUGUST 9, 2016 6:34 PM Despite concerns, Sacramento’s pot growing plan inches forward Sacramento’s push toward marijuana industrialization is expected to culminate in a plan to be voted on by the City Council in November. Sacramento’s push toward marijuana industrialization is expected to culminate in a plan to be voted on by the City Council in November. Seth Perlman AP An Ode to a Greener Lauderdale? Here is news that should enthuse the entrepreneurial citizens of Florida who live in a climate even torrider than that of Sacramento. Does your high rise face the ocean? Then, with even minimal devotion as well as a certain amount of care you can grow cash plants there in old pots like a pentimento*. And since the law here is often lax you may not even pay tax, that is , provided of course, you pay off the police force-- ( about fifty percento?)-- to avoid any harsh undue harassment or your subsequent embarrassment. HzL 8/18/16 *Pentimento A pentimento (plural pentimenti) is an alteration in a painting, evidenced by traces of previous work, showing that the artist has changed his or her mind as to the composition during the process of painting. The word is Italian for repentance, from the verb pentirsi, meaning to repent. Pentimento - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentimento (The newspaper article continues below): The city is surrounded by local governments, including Sacramento County, that ban marijuana businesses, and its dispensary sales have taken off as numerous pot stores reopened since federal forfeiture notices forced many to close in 2011 and 2012. Now, with federal authorities backing off on enforcement in states permitting marijuana use and California voters to consider legalizing pot as a recreational drug in November, Sacramento is weighing decisions on how far it wants to go into the legal pot business. And Tuesday’s committee session revealed intense concerns among community groups over how close marijuana businesses might be to neighborhoods. The law and legislation panel moved forward recommendations by the city’s planning commission to allow pot-cultivation sites within 300 feet of neighborhoods with strict rules and a conditional use-permit program giving residents input on such operations. Previously, City Council members Allen Warren and Eric Guerra complained that industrial areas in their northern- and eastern-Sacramento districts, respectively, would receive the bulk of the grow rooms. The planning commission recommended allowing the facilities closer to neighborhoods to more evenly space them throughout the city. But that notion didn’t sit well with Kathy Anuszczykof the Hagginwood Community Association in North Sacramento. She urged the city to keep such facilities far from homes and also called for a cap on the number of cultivation sites in the city. “We’re the neighborhoods. We’re going to live with this,” Anuszcyzk told the committee. “City Hall is not going to be next to this. My neighborhood will be.” Brad Wasson, Sacramento’s revenue manager, said the city anticipates another $2 million in revenue from a 4 percent business tax from commercial marijuana cultivation facilities expected to be licensed in Sacramento by next year. But the revenue figures could be bigger, depending on how many growing facilities – and what scale – the city ultimately approves. Wasson said the city is looking to persuade traditionally reclusive marijuana producers to operate transparent, licensed cultivation businesses. The city is seeking detailed security plans, including video surveillance, criminal background checks on employees, odor-control systems, efficient energy- and water-use requirements, and strict rules on shipping marijuana and handling cash. “I would like to try to figure out how much medical marijuana Sacramento people need, and we will be able to support that with grow sites,” Wasson said. “It’s hard to get real information about what we need. They’re still very nervous about their grow sites. For years, they’ve been busted for growing marijuana. There is a little trust issue you’ve got to get to.” Wasson said 180 individuals already cultivating within city limits have registered with officials in hopes of getting operating permits. He said many are in residential zones, where no commercial growing is allowed, and would have to move under the proposed rules. A total of 600 potential applicants have contacted the city about commercial cultivation, he said. City staff members, who said they are seeking to allow at least enough cultivation to supply local dispensaries, haven’t recommended a cap on total marijuana production but have floated the idea as an option for the City Council. Under plans discussed by the law and legislation committee, the city could approve commercial growing permits for up to 22,000 square feet of indoor cultivation space to applicants who meet the city’s criteria. “I think we can have a model ordinance, be a model city on cultivation, manufacturing and dispensing marijuana in a manner that offers a balance between the industry and community needs and creates a revenue stream for the city at the same time,” said City Council member Jay Schenirer. “The fact is it’s legal and it’s here, so let’s do it right.” Schenirer championed Measure Y, a June ballot initiative that would have imposed a special 5 percent city tax on marijuana cultivation revenue and directed revenue to a special fund dedicated to programs and services for children. It fell just short of the required two-thirds vote for passage. Schenirer said he will push a less-formal proposal before the City Council later this year to direct standard business taxes from cultivation – which don’t require voter approval – for youth programs. Wasson said the city expects to follow the cultivation ordinance with other regulations for marijuana delivery services — with drivers working only for local dispensaries — and cannabis product manufacturing, including permits for producers of marijuana foods and concentrates. Lanette Davies, whose Canna Care dispensary in North Sacramento is seeking a permit for a cultivation facility, said she expects considerable debate on the city’s plans before a final proposal reaches the council. “I think you’ll see a lot of changes – I’m not sure what,” she said. “I’m pleased with it so far. Sacramento is taking a leadership position in showing the rest of California how well we can do things.” Peter Hecht: 916-326-5539, @phecht_sacbee Read more here: http://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article94728972.html#storylink=cpy

BRAIN DOPING

BRAIN DOPING Brain doping is now hoping to increase performance as well endurance. It is something which to flirt because it probably won't hurt to give some apt suggestion or well-phrased question or even a mild electric shock to an overly athletic jock. Besides, even if not perfect it would be impossible to detect on those running a sub four minute mile or masterfully dueling, (even though it's tough and grueling) they'll still retain their happy drooling smile--all the while. And afterwards no one will probe their frontal or parietal lobe and/or plus somehow shine a bright lamp on their hippocampus-- which would be ridiculous. HAPPINESS

HAPPINESS

What is happiness? Of course,
It's difficult to define
and what is yours
may not be mine.

It woulds nice to have love
and riches too
but sometimes a warm stove
will have to do.

As long as nothing hurts too much
and we can see and hear
and bear the troubles that on us touch
it's still a pretty good year.

Besides there's not much use in complaining
when there's too little sun.
Just use umbrellas  if it's raining --
because too soon it'll all be done.

And if on our brief  way we say , " we're happy", then it's by stealth
because, apparently,  it has very little at all  to do with wealth.

CARGO SHORTS
"Relationships ... are being  tested by Cargo Shorts"..or so today's Wall Street Journal reports.
It seems the "loosely cut shorts with ;large pockets"on their sides, while liked and found handy by men, are ae far from popular with  their brides
who "throw them in the trash or sneak them off to Goodwill"in order to   preserve desire and still  be charitable.
because it's hard to feel as elegant as a  Mrs. Trump(any one of the three)when your husband "looks like like a misshapen lump",indubitably.
And to further convince all dadswho are also would-be sports,a Men's Fashion retailer quoted in the article adds,"remember James Bond never wears  Cargo Shorts".

A Splash Remake?

A Splash Remake?

A MerMaid or MerMan
Either way, would be  quite  a strange American.
What is the word for such  a mixture of two species?
Hybrid doesn't seem right
and half and half doesn't sound too bright.
In any case the result would seem to have a precarious biological niche
as  one could deduce --
unable to  excrete  or  ever,   if able to feel such an itch,
successfully  reproduce.
